The comments quickly filled with reactions and shared experiences from other travelers.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis strikes me as the same type of person who would clip their nails in public,\u201d one user remarked.<\/p>\n
Another quipped, \u201cThis is not your mom\u2019s basement, sir.\u201d<\/p>\n
A third added, \u201cLiving room syndrome strikes again.\u201d<\/p>\n
One commenter admitted, \u201cThis is why I travel with Clorox wipes on planes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jacqueline Whitmore, a Florida-based etiquette expert and former flight attendant, told Fox News Digital that feet should always remain covered in some way on a plane.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom an etiquette standpoint, it is rude to walk about barefoot in a public place, as many germs can be transmitted from your feet,\u201d Whitmore explained.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you plan to take off your shoes on a longer flight, it\u2019s best not to walk around without slippers for your own health and safety. The floor of the plane is extremely dirty, especially in the lavatory. Whitmore also noted that bare feet affect others, not just the passenger.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor fellow passengers, seeing someone walk around barefoot can be considered unpleasant or unhygienic, which could negatively impact their flying experience.\u201d<\/p>\n
Her advice for comfort without crossing the line? Slip into a clean pair of socks, wear slippers, or choose more comfortable shoes.<\/p>\n
