There are moments when I just sit in the quiet kitchen, wondering, \u201cDid I choose the wrong person?\u201d But then my baby shifts inside me, reminding me I\u2019m not alone.<\/p>\n

Nathan wasn\u2019t always like this. He used to be gentle, caring, at least in the beginning. But ever since I got pregnant, he\u2019s become distant, irritable, and overly critical. The time I forgot to buy his favorite coffee, he looked at me and said coldly, \u201cSo what? You stay home all day just to eat and sleep?\u201d Those words cut deep, but I didn\u2019t respond. I knew he\u2019d blame it on pregnancy hormones. So, I swallowed my anger, forced a smile, and told myself,\u00a0Just a little longer. When the baby comes, things will change.<\/i>\u00a0But deep down, I knew maybe I was clinging to a false hope.<\/p>\n

That morning, I woke up earlier than usual, my back aching. I made my way to the kitchen to brew coffee for Nathan. I set the steaming mug on the table next to a simple breakfast. He walked in, phone in hand. \u201cThe toast\u2019s burnt. Can\u2019t you even use the toaster?\u201d<\/p>\n

I bit my lip. \u201cI\u2019m sorry. The toaster\u2019s been acting up lately.\u201d<\/p>\n
