I entered the elevator: inside there were already two men, a mother with her child, and a woman around fifty. The doors almost closed, but the elevator didn\u2019t move. On the screen, the warning appeared: \u201cOverweight. One passenger must exit.\u201d<\/p>\n

Everyone immediately turned toward me. Nobody said anything outright, but their looks said it all: \u201cYou\u2019re fat \u2014 get out.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014 \u201cMadam, could you step out? We\u2019re in a hurry,\u201d said the older woman.<\/p>\n
