For four hours, the highway was closed while investigators looked into the crash. Investigations are still ongoing to determine what caused the crash.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u201dA very loving and kind person\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>The news of the family\u2019s deaths has shocked both the Raleigh neighborhood they just moved to and the Florida community they were visiting.<\/p>\n<p>Christopher<strong>\u00a0\u201cJonesy\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0Butler-Jones, a friend of the family, spoke through tears to WTVD:\u00a0<strong>\u201dI\u2019m still in shock. [Her husband] lost his entire family. It\u2019s just heart-wrenching.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jonesy described Reagan as a devoted mother whose greatest dream was to raise a happy, thriving family.\u00a0<strong>\u201dThat was one of her dreams, is to always have an amazing family and be a mother. She was very dedicated. Her kids were everything to her.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-11\">\n<div id=\"ezoic-pub-ad-placeholder-106\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>He remembered her not only as a loving mom but also as the kind of friend who could light up your darkest days.\u00a0<strong>\u201dIf you\u2019re upset, you can call her and she\u2019s going to make you happy,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0he said.\u00a0<strong>\u201dShe\u2019s going to show you the brighter side of it.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A community in mourning<\/h2>\n<p>Neighbors in Raleigh are struggling with the unexpected death of a family they had only recently come to know. Jason Flores, a neighbor, told WRAL:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201dWe always waved to each other. She always had a smile on her face. The kids were always happy. Their food always smelled good when they cooked it.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The family left a lasting impression despite their brief stay. Their love, joy, and connection were truly unforgettable.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>She urged people to pray for Christian and support the family in any way they could.\u00a0<strong>\u201dIf you feel led, there is a GoFundMe to support them during this time.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reagan\u2019s friend, Cecily Corinne Borquez, posted a childhood photo of them together, writing,\u00a0<strong>\u201dYou were such an amazing friend, the life of the party, an absolute blast to be around, and all around one in a million. How something so tragic could happen to someone so incredible, I\u2019ll never understand. You\u2019ll never be forgotten.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Legacy of Love<\/h2>\n<p>Everyone who knew the Dougan family has been forever changed by their loss. Reagan is characterized by friends as a light\u2014a woman who lived a happy life, loved sincerely, and mothered with all of her heart.<\/p>\n<p>In the words of her friend Jonesy,\u00a0<strong>\u201dThere was a very warm, comforting feeling around her.
