Ten minutes later, two bikes rolled up behind my car. The leader\u2014Grizz\u2014bent to my window, eyes not cruel but\u00a0wrecked<\/b>\u00a0with exhaustion.<\/p>\n

I told him. About Henderson bolting. The quarry. The posters. How the dots connected. He listened, jaw tight, then said quietly, \u201cDaniel is my\u00a0grandson<\/b>.\u201d<\/p>\n

The word changed the air between us. This wasn\u2019t a club flexing muscle. It was a family looking for its child.<\/p>\n
