On the same day its owner died, the horse broke free from the stable and ran away. No one knew where it had gone. The family of the deceased was too busy with funeral preparations to look for it.<\/p>\n

For two days, no one had seen the animal \u2014 it seemed to have simply vanished.<\/p>\n

But the horse had felt its master\u2019s passing. They had been together for nearly ten years \u2014 he had raised it from a foal, talked to it like to a friend, fed it from his hand, cared for it when it was sick. The horse knew his voice, his footsteps, even his mood.<\/p>\n
