For several months, I let my hair grow long. My classmates laughed at me, teased me, called me a girl, but I didn\u2019t care. When my hair was long enough, I took the clippers, stood in front of the mirror, and shaved my head completely.<\/p>\n

Then I gathered all my hair into a small plastic bag and brought it to my mom.<\/p>\n

\u2014 Here, mom, \u2014 I said, \u2014 this is my hair. Put it on your head.<\/p>\n

Mom looked at the bag, laughed at first, and then started crying \u2014 tears of happiness. She hugged me so tightly that I\u2019ll remember that hug for the rest of my life.<\/p>\n

\u2014 You\u2019re my greatest treasure, \u2014 she whispered.<\/p>\n

A year later, mom passed away. The illness proved stronger. But to this day, I still smile when I remember the day I gave her my hair.\u00a0\u2764\ufe0f<\/p>\n
