28-year-old Malaysian Farah Faizal had expected pregnancy to bring her joy and excitement. Instead, every day she saw an increasingly unfamiliar face in the mirror.<\/p>\n

Her skin changed literally before her eyes: first redness and small pimples appeared, which later developed into painful inflammations.<\/p>\n

Doctors suspected the cause could be a rare form of rosacea \u2013 a severe inflammatory skin condition that sometimes occurs during pregnancy due to hormonal changes.<\/p>\n
