After she was denied medical care for a body part she didn\u2019t even have, a transgender woman claimed she was discriminated against by a gynaecologist.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The matter grew serious as litigation was initiated and now has the world divided in opinion.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jessica Yaniv \u2013 now known as Jessica Simpson \u2013 is a Canadian\u00a0transgender\u00a0activist who sparked outrage in 2018 when she started filing a string of human rights complaints against beauticians who refused to manicure her man parts.<\/p>\n

Simpson wanted a Brazilian, a treatment that removes all or part of the hair from a woman\u2019s pubic region. The same technique involving a penis or scrotum is referred to as a \u201cbrozilian\u201d or \u201cmanzilian\u201d and estheticians are specifically trained for each.<\/p>\n

Simpson, 37, still has her male genitalia but it didn\u2019t stop her from accusing five independent beauty workers for refusing to give her a wax, demanding up to $15,000 in damages from each of them.<\/p>\n

\u201cNone of these providers had any issue with anything until I mentioned I was transgender,\u201d the Langley, British Columbia resident told the court, the\u00a0Telegraph<\/a>\u00a0reports.<\/p>\n

Simpson vs. beauticians<\/h3>\n

In 2019, the trans woman lost the country\u2019s landmark discrimination case and was ordered pay $2,000 in damages to each of the three respondents who testified at the hearings.<\/p>\n

The court also said she showed \u201canimus toward certain racial, religious and cultural groups.\u201d<\/p>\n

The workers who testified were home-based estheticians, minorities who worked from their own homes, spoke little English and were forced to shutter their businesses after Simpson\u2019s accusations.<\/p>\n

The women performed Brazilian\u00a0waxing<\/a>\u00a0services on their female clients but were not trained or equipped to handle male anatomy.<\/p>\n

When a reporter at the\u00a0Calgary Herald<\/a>\u00a0asked if she felt bad the businesses closed because of her, she replied: \u201cNo, why should I feel bad? The one who was the victim here was me. The way that I see it, all women should receive the same service.\u201d<\/p>\n

Simpson vs. fire department<\/h2>\n

Over the next several years, the \u2018activist,\u2019 called a \u201cprolific litigant\u201d by one BC Supreme Court Justice \u2013 lodged complaints against beauty pageants, the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) provincial health, and a local news network.<\/p>\n
