Actress Suzanne Rogers has stared as Maggie Horton on the soap opera \u201cDays of Our Lives\u201d for the past 52 years, but now, she\u2019s revealing her cancer diagnosis and how that will impact her work on the show.<\/p>\n
Horton told TV Insider that she was diagnosed with cancer over the summer. The felt that something \u201cwasn\u2019t quite right,\u201d so she made a doctor\u2019s appointment. After looking at the results of a routine colonoscopy, a surgeon told her, \u201cI want you to have an MRI and I want you to have a PET scan and I\u2019m going to do a biopsy.\u201d<\/p>\n
Rogers shares, \u201cAnd the minute he said that I knew that it was something more.\u201d
She was diagnosed with Stage II colorectal cancer. Her doctor told her, \u201cYou have cancer and you have to start treatment.\u201d<\/p>\n
Rogers explained, \u201cIt was all a shock. I mean, I think I was in a shock for several days because I take pretty good care of myself. But he said, \u2018It\u2019s a good thing you caught it in time.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
