Every morning, exactly at 6:30, my neighbor went out to the yard with a yellow hose in her hand. And every time the same thing: she watered a small patch of ground by the fence. Always just that patch. The rest of the yard, where tomatoes, cucumbers, and strawberries grew, remained dry.<\/p>\n

At first, I thought she had some particularly delicate plants there. But after a few days, it became clear \u2013 nothing was growing on that spot. Just wet soil.<\/p>\n
