It was written by my best friend. The one who had shared my student years, her boyfriend\u2019s breakup, sleepless nights, tears, jokes.<\/p>\n

I read the message three times. My heart wasn\u2019t racing \u2014 it just stopped.<\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t reply right away. I didn\u2019t even delete the photo. I simply closed my laptop and went to my husband.<\/p>\n
