I found my mother adjusting the boutonni\u00e8re on my dad\u2019s jacket. \u201cHey,\u201d I said, trying to keep my voice casual. \u201cDo you know what\u2019s going on with the seating?\u201d She didn\u2019t look at me. \u201cOh, yeah. Brianna\u2019s family had more people show up than expected. They flew in from so far, you know. Just hang near the wall for the ceremony. You\u2019ll still see everything.\u201d \u201cThe wall<\/i>?\u201d I echoed, a little too loudly. My dad shot me a look, a silent warning not to make a scene. \u201cIt\u2019s not a big deal,\u201d my mom said, waving me away. \u201cJust don\u2019t ruin the pictures by sulking.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n
