The nurses whispered among themselves, bragging about their luck to work there. Some mocked the cleaners in the back – including Toby, now “James.” Chief nurse Vivien, adjusting her white uniform, sneered:
“Imagine working as a janitor here. Some people have no ambition.” Everyone thought he was just an insignificant employee.
“New here, huh?” grumbled Musa, an old, grumpy janitor.
“Yes, I just started today.”
“Watch out for those nurses. They act like they own the place.”
“Thanks for the warning,” Toby murmured.
Suddenly, nurse Elisa, a mocking smile on her lips, said sharply:
“You smell bad, James! Looks like you forgot to shower! This is a prestigious hospital—you need to follow the rules!”
