Emily stood frozen on her porch, clutching the key as though it were a dream she might lose if she let go.

The Fruits of Sacrifice

The four women surrounded her, their eyes filled with love, admiration, and respect. One whispered, “You gave us hope when we had none. You gave us love when the world turned away.” Another held her hand tightly and said, “You were the mother we prayed for every night.”

Emily’s tears poured as she remembered every night she had gone hungry so the girls could eat, every time she mended their torn clothes with weary hands, every cruel word neighbors had thrown at her. And now, standing before her were the living proof of those sacrifices—strong, successful, radiant women.
