If we have the wedding at Riverside,” I whispered, “she can’t come.”
“Exactly,” Jason said, placing his large hand over mine. “So, I had a crazy thought. What if we bring the wedding to her?”
I looked up, blinking. “To the nursing home?”
“Why not? Silver Meadows has that beautiful courtyard. I can’t imagine getting married without her there. She’s the one who told me I’d be an idiot if I didn’t propose.”
Tears pricked my eyes. It was insane. It was unconventional. It was perfect.
“Mom and Catherine will hate it,” I said, a laugh bubbling up through the tears. “They will absolutely loathe it.”
“This is our wedding,” Jason said, his voice firm, grounding me. “Not a photoshoot. Not a networking event. Ours. Let’s do it for Eleanor.”
I looked at this man, this incredible partner, and nodded. “Let’s do it.”
