mma was racing through the city streets, clutching her resume and silently rehearsing her elevator pitch. This interview wasn’t just important — it was her shot at a life-changing career, the one she had worked toward for years.

Just a block away from the office building, her focus was shattered by the screech of tires and a sharp cry. On the opposite sidewalk, an elderly man collapsed, clutching his chest as panicked drivers honked and pedestrians shuffled past, unwilling to get involved.

 

 

Emma froze. Her instincts told her to run — time was slipping through her fingers. But her conscience made the call. She darted across the street.
