ulce’s disappearance sparked a wide-ranging rescue mission involving local and regional teams. Support came from Irapuato, Pueblo Nuevo, Huanímaro, Civil Protection units, the Salamanca Fire Department, and the Red Cross. Divers and volunteers worked tirelessly under the leadership of Liborio Vázquez and the Salamanca Rescue Brigade.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of Thursday, June 12. According to early reports, Dulce and another child were playing near the river when they were caught in a sudden current. While the other child managed to hold onto a tree and was rescued, Dulce was carried away by the water. His account helped guide the early search efforts, but despite swift action, Dulce could not be located in time.

The discovery has left the community in deep sorrow. Candlelight vigils and quiet tributes have begun to appear throughout Salamanca as neighbors reflect on the fragility of life and the importance of safety around natural bodies of water.

Dulce’s memory now lives on in the hearts of those who searched for her, stood by her family, and hoped for a different outcome. In times like these, the strength of community support becomes a source of comfort, reminding everyone of the power of unity in moments of profound loss.
