The woman looked tired but determined. When she arranged her things, it turned out they had tickets only for the upper bunk. She sat across from me and immediately began telling me how miserable she was — her back hurt, her son was restless, and it would be impossible to manage with a child up there. She asked me to give up my place.
I felt sorry for her. After all, a mother with a child, and a bad back too. I decided to help: climbed up to the upper bunk and tried to fall asleep. But that didn’t work out.
I gave up my lower bunk on the train to a woman with a child, but soon regretted my good deed.
The boy, sprawled out on the lower bunk, began constantly fidgeting, kicking the mattress and the metal frame, making the whole structure shake and vibrate. Moreover, he was humming some silly tune from a computer game and wouldn’t stop talking. At first, I endured it. Then, gathering my strength, I politely asked the woman to calm her son.
«Why are you making a drama out of this?» she replied with tired irritation. «He’s just a child!»
But the child, as if on purpose, became even more energetic — running up and down the carriage, loudly playing cartoons on the phone, laughing, jumping. Sleep was completely out of the question.
At that moment, I realized I couldn’t tolerate it any longer and did something I don’t regret. Don’t you dare say young people don’t respect adults 😢😔 To be continued 👇👇
