But the more closely we looked, the more the sense of danger grew: these eggs were too dense, strangely shiny, and located right at the edge of the lawn where children and pets often play.

One of the neighbors called a pest control specialist. After inspecting the find, he delivered a verdict that sent chills down our spines: they were tick eggs.

The expert explained that ticks aren’t just unpleasant parasites.
They transmit serious diseases, including Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever.

The larvae that hatch from these eggs can quickly find hosts among pets or people.

He explained that tick eggs are usually very small, about 0.5 mm, and resemble poppy seeds.
They often hide in grass clumps, under leaves, or even in piles of old wood.
That’s why finding such eggs should never be ignored.

To get rid of them, the specialist recommended several steps:

✅ Consult a veterinarian to treat your pets
✅ Plant tick-repelling plants such as rosemary, chrysanthemums, or mint
✅ Keep the lawn neatly mowed
✅ Move firewood stacks away from the house so ticks can’t hide there
