I have 5 stepkids. I adopted them all except Nick. He never wanted me to be his mom, which is fine. Recently, he complained about not getting help with his 2 daughters. He asked me to step up and watch the kids. I refused and told him the reason. He didn’t take it well, then said, “You’ve always hated me. You were just waiting for a reason to push me away.”
